Biographical note: 
Bruno Vilhena Pires holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Aveiro. He is currently a PhD candidate in Business and Economics and an FCT PhD Research Fellow at the same university. His research focuses on measuring the persistence of education–work mismatches following the transition from higher education to the labour market, examining associated gender differences, and assessing how adverse economic cycles may reinforce these persistence effects among recent Portuguese graduates. He completed his master’s degree in 2021 with a thesis entitled “The Persistence of Mismatches in the Transition to Employment: A University-Level Study.” His work lies within the Social Sciences, particularly Economics, with research interests in the Economics of Education, Higher Education, and the Labour Market. He also has an interest in Political Science.
