National Meeting on Public Policy Evaluation

CIPES researcher, Pedro Luis Silva, took part last week (26) in PLANAPP’s National Meeting on Public Policy Evaluation, where he presented the DGEEC study on the Pilot Project for Digital Textbooks (PPMD) in Portugal.

The study indicates that, even when accounting for the characteristics of students and schools, performance is similar between those who use digital textbooks and those who use printed ones. It also shows that the mere adoption of digital textbooks does not automatically improve academic results, emphasising instead the crucial influence of factors such as teaching practices, teacher support, and the way these resources are used in the educational context.
