Nota biográfica: 
João Cerejeira is Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Economics and Management School at the University of Minho and researcher at NIPE - Economic Policies Research Units. With an undergraduate degree in Economics, he holds a PhD in Economics at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy), under the supervision of Andrea Ichino. During his PhD he studied the relevance of human capital externalities on wages, the effects of minimum wages on the job skill composition and the effect of firm size on wages. More recent research interests include the exchange rates effects in labour markets, the role of skill mismatches on regional and national competiveness; and a more general interest on policy and program evaluation. He has published journal articles in Higher Education, Open Economies Review, Economics Letters, The World Economy and seven chapters and books on Portuguese economy and program evaluation. His advising experience includes policy oriented reports on Minimum Wage, Education and Employment on the Portuguese labour market, for the Portuguese Ministry of Labour and Solidarity and International Labour Organization (ILO). More recently, he co-coordinated a regional module of the National System for Anticipation of Skills Needs. His consultancy experience includes works for EDP, Microsoft, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, Fundação Belmiro de Azevedo, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte and P-Bio (Portugal’s Biotechnology Industry Organization), among others. In 2012 he co-coordinated the economic section of the Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture impact evaluation. Since 2016 he is member of the Scientific Council of the Centro de Relações Laborais [Labour Relations Center] of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and fellow of the Global Labor Organization. From 2013 to 2015, he was Vice-President of the EEG-UMinho and Executive Director of UMinho Exec, the executive education unit of the University of Minho.
